Back in Panama City Beach

After our trip thru the grand canyon of Florida.  we spent the night at anchor.  Its very different here than in the San Juans.  In the San Juans the problem is finding water that is shallow enough far enough from shore so that when the wind changes you won't be on land.  No problem here, in the enormous Choctawhatchee Bay which is roughly 5 miles wide and 25 miles long, none of which is deeper than 15 feet. Since the tide is about 1 foot max change that leaves the entire bay available to anchor.  So the problem becomes finding a place that is deep enough to anchor close enough to shore to give protection from the wind.
After a nice nite in a good anchorage we are back in Panama City Beach at the Marina.
